MX2500 Replacement Electrode

Overview
With its gel electrolyte and double Pellon® junction minimizing the chance of contamination of the reference electrolyte, this plastic-bodied electrode and the HOBO MX2501 pH and Temperature Data Logger are perfectly suited for environmental monitoring of streams, lakes, rivers, estuaries, and oceans. The electrode uses potentiometric and temperature measurements of samples to determine the pH, and can easily be replaced because of the simple plug-and-play 3.5-mm connector. Following proper calibration, storage, and maintenance protocols for the electrode, the MX2501 can achieve pH accuracies of ±0.10 pH units within ±10°C of temperature at calibration.
The replacement pH electrode replaces the original pH electrode that ships with the HOBO MX2501 logger. The electrodes should be replaced after six months of use.
NOTE: pH electrodes should always be stored in storage solution when not deployed.

Overview
The replacement sensor end cap replaces the original sensor end cap that ships with the HOBO MX pH Logger.
MX2500 Anti-Biofouling Copper Guard

Overview
The Anti-Biofouling Copper Guard can be used in addition to the standard electrode guard for protection against biofouling during deployment. The anti-biofouling guard uses copper to reduce biofouling, while still allowing proper water flow to the sensor.
Copper protects the logger by interacting with the chemistry of the water in which it is deployed. This reaction is an oxidation-reduction reaction that produces a patina. The patina depends on what specific chemistry is present, as well as depth, temperature, etc.
The patina should not affect the ability of the guard to protect the logger; however, if the logger is conspicuously gaining more fouling, it may be time to replace the guard. The guards' ability to protect the logger relies on the copper getting consumed

MX2500 Electrode Storage Cap

Overview
The electrode storage cap is used to protect the pH electrode in the HOBO MX pH Logger, as well as to properly store the electrode in proper pH storage solution (MX2500-STORE-SOLN). The storage cap has the added benefit of being able to be used for field calibrations.
